STATE OF THE UNION - IMMIGRANT HEALTH REFORM: A REPEAT. An overview about President Obama's statements on health care in his State of the Union address. Under proposed health reform legislation, undocumented immigrants are being banned from purchasing health coverage in the insurance exchange market. In addition, legal resident immigrants are barred from enrolling in Medicaid during their first five years in the U.S. This program focuses on how immigration reform could change health care reform. This program also discusses the provisions in the current health care proposals that would expand health coverage to millions of uninsured Latinos.
Guests: Nancy Marisa Gómez, Regional Organizer for Southern California, Health Access, http://www.health-access.org/ ; Geraldine Henrich-Koenis, Spokesperson, Families USA, http://www.familiesusa.org/ ; President Obama, fragment of sate of the union speech.
