POSTVILLE AND FAKE IDS. Immigrant advocates are praising a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that ruled that undocumented workers who used false documents may not necessarily be charged with identity theft. The decision comes on the eve of May 12, the first anniversary of the largest worksite raid in the nation’s history. Many of the detainees were charged using the identity theft statute. How will the Court’s ruling impact these cases?
