MEXICO EDITION. Teachers from the Mexican states of Michoacán, Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Chiapas marched to the capital city of the country on May 15th, to reject the so-called Alliance for Educational Quality, which consists of applying exams to all students and teachers in the country. The educators question the government proposal, because it applies the same exam to all children, without taking into account different contexts and needs in rural towns, ranches, or urban areas. They also say the Secretary of Public Education should not be giving teachers a universal exam without offering professional development classes. Martha Elena Ramírez hosts Voz Pública from Mexico City.
