WOMEN ON THE BALLOT. The United States lags behind other developed countries in women’s political representation, and fewer women are now in Congress and state legislatures than a few years ago. Advocates say 2012 is an opportunity for more women to run for office, since congressional district maps are being redrawn all over the country. A candidate and a former state representative join the edition to discuss the importance of putting women on the ballot in the 2012 elections.
