JUSTICE FOR THE COLONIAS. The New Mexico Supreme Court required state environmental authorities to consider environmental justice factors when deciding on permits for solid waste facilities. This ruling is considered a model for other state courts. This program explores the impact of this and other measures on border Colonias and other communities surrounded by waste sites.

This program also includes news about an upcoming lawsuit against the state of New Mexico seeking to provide workers compensation insurance to agricultural workers, end discrimination by providing benefits for farm workers injured at work.
