WALKOUTS AND YOUTH POWER. Dr. Carlos Muñoz Jr. Is publishing a second edition of his book "Youth, Identity, Power: The Chicano Movement". This is to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1968 East L.A. Walkouts that sparked the emergence of the Chicano Civil Rights Movement. Muñoz talks about his book in light of the recent student walkouts that helped spark a season of immigrant-rights mega-rallies.
ALSO, U.S. POST STAMP HONORS MÉNDEZ CASE. The U.S. Postal Service is releasing a post stamp commemorating the landmark case of Méndez v. Westminster, on the 60th anniversary of the case that sought to end segregation. This program includes a conversation with Sylvia Méndez, daughter of Gonzalo and Felícitas Méndez, plaintiffs who sued for equal treatment. A spokesperson for the U.S. Postal Service has also been invited.
